Thyme essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the above ground parts of the plant Thymus Vulgaris. Recognized by aromatherapists as a powerful natural antiseptic, thyme oil has an intensely fresh, spicy, herbal aroma that is very reminiscent of the fresh herb itself.

Thyme oil is reputed as a powerful stimulant of the immune system. It is effective to soothe and alleviate symptoms associated with respiratory tract illnesses. It is also known to have an analgesic effect on joint and muscle pain, and neuritis.

Thyme oil has a tonic, cleansing and soothing effect on the skin. It helps stimulate blood circulation to leave skin glowing and more youthful. It also helps to remove toxins from the skin, making it look healthier and with an even complexion and texture.

The potency of thyme oil increases the likelihood of irritation of the skin and mucous membranes; therefore, safe and appropriate dilution before use is recommended.

Thyme oil combines well with the following essential oils: geranium, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, pine, tea tree, mint, eucalyptus, bergamot.

How to use
